The Order of Malta is a sovereign entity under international law and maintains bilateral diplomatic relations with 115 countries, including the Republic of Austria. The Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Republic of Austria, H.E. Ambassador Sebastian Prince of Schoenaich-Carolath, hosted a reception for the diplomatic corps at the St. Johanns-Club in Vienna on 22 June 2026 to mark the feast day of the Order’s patron saint, St John the Baptist. More than 120 guests were briefed on the Order’s current humanitarian work at an international level.
